After much research of children's needs in the community today and a major fund-raising campaign, Saint Mary's Family Centre was opened by the Congregation of Our Lady of Fidelity on the 13th November 1992 by our patron the late Lord Weatherill.   The first children came into the centre on 16th November of the same year.

The Family Centre is an independent, non-residential centre offering a range of comprehensive and therapeutic services to families experiencing difficulty and families within the community.

The Centre has been established in Croydon for 20 years and works directly with the London Borough of Croydon.  The Social Services teams and Health professionals make referrals to the Centre and the Centre accepts Community referrals from the London Borough of Croydon and the surrounding Boroughs.

The Centre has a well equipped, large outside play area and its own car park and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of qualified Social Workers and Child Care staff.  The Centre is open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Following a recent Ofsted inspection, the Centre received an award of "Outstanding" for our Early Years facility, After School Club and Breakfast Club.

Services available at the Centre include:

  • Early Years Education
  • Social Work Assessment & Support Services
  • After School Club
  • Breakfast Club
  • Domestic Violence Contact Service
  • Supervised Contact Service
